Jake began his training today, it went well. He started off with learning how to be walked without pulling on his leash. What's something I REALLY want to work on with him though, but I'm not sure if it can be helped, is his aggression towards other dogs, aside from Ronin. I'm assuming that perhaps he hasn't been socialized or something, I'm not really sure why he gets along with Ronin, but with other dogs, he barks, growls, etc. I always have Jake on a leash, but there are some idiots out there, who bring their dogs to the park, and have off leash fun with them. I'm all for that, if your dog obeys you. But for God's sake people, please call your dogs off when they're following my dog, and he's trying to get them. Don't just stand there, mouth agape, staring in wonder. It's dangerous for your dog, it's dangerous for my dog, and it's dangerous for me, who is standing there holding on to the end of the leash of my dog. The last thing I want to see happen is anybody's beloved pet being attacked, but what am I to do, if your dog is pursuing Jake, and you don't get them away? Almost happened today, somebody had two tiny little beagles with them, and their dog ran over to Jake. When Jake started barking at the beagle, the beagle came closer, attempting to antagonize Jake. I grabbed Jake by his harness, and was pulling him away, as he growled, and barked, and tried to get the beagle (which was following us). The owner of the beagle was just standing there staring, not even calling her dog away, luckily the dog trainer I hired grabbed the beagle and took him/her away, otherwise that could have been a messy situation. Poor Jake. He adores Ronin, I wonder why he's so aggressive to other dogs. I'm thinking it must be from the Humane Society, maybe he got in fights, or just from how aggressive a lot of the other dogs in there behave.
