There's just one time through and that's it.

Don't care what religious belief you harbor, if you're Christian there's no coming back, if you believe in reincarnation you're not going to remember this life, and if you're Satanist there is no afterlife. So this is it you guys.

Sometimes Ki knows exactly what she's wanting out of life, other times she doesn't. At the end of it all, what will really be important?

Money? No, what satisfaction will you reap from knowing you kept millions in savings, and never did a thing with it all?

Spiritual harmony? Perhaps, if that is your way of things.

Family? Yes. Those are the people who have known you your entire life, and the ones that could forgive almost anything, and the ones that grew around you and with you, and accepted it all.

Friends? Real friends yes. People that knew you, people that laughed at you, people that gave you a pick-me-up when you were down, that watered your plants or fed your pets for not cost while you were away, the ones that ditched their big date to bring you a girlie magazine and a box of almond roca when you were let down, the ones that laughed at your bad jokes, or made an ass of themself because they knew you wouldn't laugh at them.

Social cliques? No. What good does the backstabbing, the pretentiousness, the lies, the catty-ness, the empty feelings, the betrayals fo?

Hatred? Let it go. What do you get out of sitting about and stewing over those you distrust, or those who have harmed you? What will you really receive of bringing them down? The adrenaline rush isn't worth it, it'll make you feel hollow inside.

Love? Real love is worth the troubles that it can bring. It is worth a few changes (big or small), it is worth putting aside some dreams to realise bigger ones. It is worth all the conflicting emotions it can bring about, because the payoff is so much more than the effort.

Pretending to be that which you are not? No. What good does it do for you to force yourself to read the books that do not interest you? To dress in the way which you are uncomfortable? To listen to the music you do not like? To pretend to be a religion you are not? To fake yourself so others will accept you? That only wastes your life. You must make yourself a new life in which you are happy, you should not go on to live this way that does not fit you.

Art, helping others, social issues, trying to make the world a better place, these things that are dear to your heart are other reasons to live. They give you purpose, and if you go to your death knowing you gave it your all, that makes the ride of life worth experiencing.

But these people, these people that live day to day, and they do nothing, and they waste themselves, and they never really feel anything, and they never go anywhere, and they have all these dreams as children, but they grow up, and they go to school, and then they go to work, and they never realise any of these things, and then they marry for convenience, and they breed, and they give up. Why do they bother? Why don't they chase those dreams? Why don't they climb those mountains, sail those boats, rally for peace, plant a tree, visit Christmas Island, adopt a foriegn child, make a difference? Why don't they do everything they wanted to do when they were still unaffected by the world around them? Or why don't they do everything they wanted to do when they realised how horrible the world could be, and they wanted to make a change? Why do they make a mistake, and then give up, instead of learning from it? There is hope, and there is time, as long as there is life.

It does not have to be a big thing. Fame needn't be involved, lots of money needn't be involved, not even lots of people. It just needs to impact somebody, it just needs to impact you. You need a moment, and you need to live in it. You need to have an awakening, you need to feel a sense of purpose, you need to feel like you are going somewhere. My job gives me that. Everyday when Ki sees her clients learn something, everyday when they walk out of there smiling and Ki knows she's taught them something, and that their lives are richer because of it. Everytime we volunteer at the headstart and Ki sees these children trying out new things, and having new experiences, and learning and having imagination and dreaming up possibilities, and Ki gets to encourage them or answer their questions. It's a small community over here, but you don't need to reach far to make a difference in many lives. The people around you are affected by you, and then they affect those they know, who in turn affect others, it's a big global change. You never know who you are reaching. If you teach one child to recycle, and he takes that to his friends, who take that to their families, who take that to their friends, you just never know.

What ki is saying, is that time is precious, and life is precious, stop wasting it. Ki could go on, but by now she bets this is so long that nobody is even reading it. Anyway, not going to put it under a cut =-)
