Dec. 4th, 2004 11:37 pmFelt like a bit of a jerk just now, so tell me what you guys think on this. Drove home just now, and upon arriving to my house, found that couldn't pull into the drive because there was a delivery car parked horizontally across the opening to the drive, barring any car from getting in or out (even though there was no car in the drive, which should be a small signal that someone is out, and may need to pull in at any moment). This didn't anger me too much, as someone doing the delivery might figure it'd be a quick transaction, that's understandable (although not something Ki ever did when she was a pizza delivery person, Ki'd always park along part of the sidewalk that didn't block anything). What bothered me is that Ki pulled up as the delivery girl was approaching the door, and stopped next to her car, the girl looked back, and Ki switched on an indicator to show that self's intention was to pull into the drive. The girl ignored, and proceeded to the door, and commited the transaction, while Ki just kind of hung out there in the middle of the road waiting to pull in. So.... Ki called up the Pizza Hut and ratted on the girl. Didn't get angry or upset with the person that answered the phone, just kind of rang them, said good evening, and very nicely stated "ummmm... hi! I just arrived home and there's a delivery car blocking off my driveway, so I can't get in, and I was just wondering if you could maybe let the driver know in the future that blocking driveways really isn't a good idea... I've kind of been waiting out here in the road for a bit..."
The girl asked me what the car looked like, and apologised, and thanked me for calling, and Ki said thank you to them, and was very nice about it, but still feel like a bit of a jerk. It's just that was already upset, and really just wanted to go inside, and maybe it's a good thing Ki let them know, lest she make that mistake again in the future and somebody gets pissed about it. Ki was very nice about it. Oddly enough, got up to the door to find that for some odd reason my roomie'd locked the bolt, even though Ki was about to come in.
