Citizen: Protests/Rallys
Take Back the Night - This year’s rally will be held on the Statehouse steps. There will be a half–hour rally followed by a march through the downtown area where we will disseminate prevention and resource information. We will be entering some of the local bars, but those who choose not to, will be able to hand the information to those on the streets. It is a chance for those of us who are concerned with violence, and the prevention of it, to unite and show our support for all who have been affected by it. Take Back the Night is a national event/rally centered on the issues of sexual assault and rape. It has evolved to include intimate partner violence. Co-sponsors include Women's and Children's Alliance, BSU Women’s Center, Treasure Valley NOW, Planned Parenthood, Idaho Women’s Network, BGLAD and others. This is a great way to work towards prevention of assault/violence as this event is meant to raise awareness, and awareness equals change. Fri., April 29, 9:30 p.m. 343-3688 ext. 21. Idaho State Capitol, Capitol Blvd. & Jefferson, Boise (Boise Downtown), 334-2470.
