I LOVE Glen Beck, absolutely love his show. I disagree with him from time to time on certain issues (mainly religious and so forth), but politically and economically we are almost hand in hand. Anyway, yesterday on my way to school he was going on and on about some of the problems states are trying to give people that wish to home school their children, and how it should be an individual's right to choose to homeschool their child if they want to. It led to him talking about this story. A school took away a thirteen year old girl's crutches, after she had knee surgery, because she didn't have a doctor's note. Apparently the mother tried to fax the note, and the school openly said that the fax was not working, yet still they took away her crutches.

Here's a small excerpt from the article

"She didn't give her access to the elevator. So Amber was forced to walk up and down the stairs until about 1:30 p.m., when she couldn't take the pain anymore," he said.

Elalem said her daughter called her, saying, "I can't walk. Come and get me."

On the way home, Amber said, "You know, the nurse took my crutches this morning and made me walk all day," Elalem recalled.

"I got home, took her immobilizer off, and her kneecap was on the side of her leg," Elalem said."
