Okay I'm extremely proud of myself! I set up my bank account to allocate $250 into savings twice a month, so I'll be putting $500 into savings, plus I have my ING Savings account taking out $250 a month. I figured with no rent, no mortgage, and no car payments I should be putting about the monthly amount I'd spend on those items normally into savings - instead of just spending that money :D :D :D

Also, I set up another savings account for Matt and I that is linked to our joint account, soley for home improvement projects, because we transfer money monthly from our joint checking to our joint savings (whatever isn't used on bills/grocery in our joint checking gets dumped into our joint savings - so having seperate for home improvement makes sense, that way it can build up if it's for a larger project and won't accidently go into our joint long term savings).

I feel very responsible at the moment!

Wow go you. That's awesome that you've set all of that up and now should be saving lots of money :)
