I did it as one of Matt's anniversary gifts (our anni is on 08/17) - it was actually so much easier than I thought it would be! You just need to bring a certified copy of your wedding certificate ($3 at the courthouse if you don't have one, I didn't know I'd need it, and I went to the courthouse thinking that's where I'd change it, so they gave me the copy there) and an ID card, head over to social security out on Vinnel Way (by wal mart on overland), and then it just takes about five minutes once they call your number up to the desk.
