Here I am, at the library again =-)~
Just filled out my app for Manchester Community College, also popped by the school and picked up the class schedule, and some "how to write a stellar resume" etc etc booklets. Those'll come in handy... heh. As I send out massive apps to retail stores. =-D I like working (yes I'm crazy), it makes me feel like I'm actually doing something, while, I'm, um, not at school.
So hopefully I find a damn job! I've been here for one week, and I'll already spazzing over not having a job.

Yes I'm just some random girl who came across a post of yours in the CT forum. What was the reason for moving to CT? What kind of stores were you interested in working at? I know H and M at Buckland is hiring since it's just starting to open.

I'm interested in working at, well, anything, except fast food. I won't do fast food, although I don't mind waitressing..

Moved to CT, since I grew up here, and CA was too expensive. CT's alright, it's close enough to head up to NYC once in awhile, and I already knew a couple of people here.

I'm really close to Buckland Hills, I'll have to check it out =-)

Ah cool, what are you majoring in? I went over there, for the first time the other day, got so lost just looking for the admissions office!

Yeah they have been adding new parts so it's even bigger then before. Not like a huge university but still enough to get lost. My major as of now is marketing but who knows. I've always just wanted to be creative and have my own business so thought this can tie in with it.

What kind of business, I'm torn, between wanting to be a counselor/case worker, for youth, or opening my own store, a book/cd/clothing/jewelery etc type shop..

hm you could always give and take like be a counselor/case worker but on the side if you like to sell stuff like at craft places, etc.

For me, I have a few ideas. I like making things so thought of something products like that, or an independent book and cd store. Those are the main ones but I thought of also combining a small book and zine store with a small cafe. Who knows.

Book store/cafe would be awesome. You'd need something to grab the attention of people though, because Borders and Barnes and Noble both do that. Maybe open mic poetry slams or something once a week. We had a few places back in California that would do that, or have local bands play every now and then, nothing big on a stage, just a little area sectioned off for a small gig

Yes that's what I wanted to do with open mics and such. I think it would be great and produce a homey atmosphere. The problem is a lot of places like that, at least around here don't do that will. I wouldn't plan on staying here and doing that but the big businesses still dominate.
