haven't done an environmental entry for you guys in a while. Ki's been up to the same stuff as usual, lots of recycling, and lots of random trash picking up while walking places. Haven't had it in me to rant because Ki's been going through seasonal blues (yay! those don't happen much in Cali, can't wait to go there).

Anyway, thought to bring this stuff to your attention, since it's things you guys can do without going out of your way. It's just general household stuff, basically changing brands of cleaners/soaps/etc.

http://www.ems.org/household_cleaners/alternatives.html - this is a site that tells about some alternatives you can use to your normal household cleaners. Might not be appealing to some of you, because it tells you how to make cleaners on your own, using environmentally friendly ingrediants. The plus side is that it's probably cheaper than buying the commercial products, and it's very simple. Another benefit of the site is that even if you don't opt for making your own, the site DOES give you info on four ingrediants to AVOID in the products you do choose to buy, and it tells you why those things are so terrible.

http://www.ecover.com/ This brand is available internationally, and the site has UK, US, NL, and FR versions. The brand is relatively inexpensive, and Ki's adoring the dish soap, it actually worked a lot better than Ki's normal Dawn dish detergent, and it's extremely gentle on skin. Ki's currently using the chamomille-magnolia dish soap, and it sort of softened my hands, hehe.

http://www.seventhgeneration.com/ Ki doesn't have any of these products on hand, but Colleen uses them all the time, and therefore Ki's used a lot of them, and they are very good!

Interesting article
