In addition to what I was writing over the weekend

Okay, I'm sleepy, but I had a few things I wanted to write about, and then I'll start my day. These are sort of going along the abortion/sterilization topics I wrote about the other day.
Many people would perceive these thoughts as me being cold or uncaring, but I see it as quite the opposite.....
Some people talk about rehabillitating...but sometimes there just isn't anything left to rehabillitate. Other times the individual trying to be rehabillitated DOESN'T WANT to be rehabillitated.
Last night at school my teacher was telling the class about a time she worked in a clinic in Montana. There were some patients that would always come in, they had about six children with them, and the little baby would never be wearing shoes. They had a car that was missing windows, and winters in Montana are COLD. Anyway...she eventually called health and welfare on them, it turns out their house was cold also...some of the children (I'm not sure why not all of the children) were taken. The baby was among the ones that weren't taken. They brought the baby in again, with blisters all over it's feet, and said that they'd had too small of shoes on the baby. The blisters were removed...and you know, health and welfare called again. It turns out that the blisters were caused by burns - cigarette burns.
You tell me those people shouldn't be sterilized?!? You tell me it is more their "right to breed" than it is the right of those children to have a fair chance at love, compassion, and a good and provided for upbrining? There is no rehab for that. They have had six children already, they have failed to provide, health and welfare has come out there and taken some children away, only to have to be called back because these people were burning a baby's feet.
Recently out here in Idaho a baby flew from an open door in a moving car, when the woman driving it tried to make a run from the police. The woman was the baby's grandmother. The mother is a drug addict, and they all live in one house, the grandmother, the mother, the mother's siblings, etc. The story was all over the news, and one of my classmates actually has the unfortunate luck of being these people's neighbour. She says they're always over there all yelling at each other, slamming doors, etc. Well, the baby went to the hospital, the grandmother went to the jail....now the baby is back with it's mother. Lovely. How does that happen hmmmmmmmmm?
These are NOT uncommon stories. Children are being brought into this world left and right, and brought into situations such as these, and forced to live with it, and more often than not (although I'm not going to lie, sometimes they do) they do NOT turn out okay. The current system we have is NOT okay.

Matt asked me a good question yesterday, but I need to start making a move to leave for work shortly here, so I'll write about that later.
