Sep. 21st, 2006 08:27 amHere's a novelty idea...and a healthy one too.
Real food week.
For one week (starting Saturday), everyone should ban anything that contains stuff that is not found in nature. If you cannot pronounce the name, you will not put it in your body. If you do not know what it is, it shouldn't go in your body.
Cheese - yes
Meat - yes (if you eat meat)
Whole grains - yes
Fruit - yes
Vegetables - yes
Yoghurt - yes
Milk - yes
If it's a whole food. Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is not cheese and grains. Most of this canned, processed crap is not a whole food. Try it for just ONE WEEK and see how you feel. This doesn't mean you have to spend a bunch of money on organic or health food. You could buy a loaf of bread at Zeppole for two dollars that contains: water, flour, yeast, salt, and you could buy a bag of apples and a dozen eggs to go with that and have breakfast for a week (or two). You could buy whole wheat spaghetti in the bulk section at WinCo and a can of tomato puree and some nice vegetables to go in that tomato puree and have dinner for two days. Etc. Just give it a shot, and then tell me if you feel any different after cutting out all the junk your body does not need.
