Jun. 16th, 2008 08:08 amWell well well, it's Monday, and I'm back at work.
Had a very fun weekend! Matt and I headed to Salt Lake City on Friday afternoon, and returned last night. We stayed at the KOA campsite downtown (fun! I'd never been camping before), which is actually a pretty nice setup. They have a pool, hot tub, showers, and toilets - didn't want to go into total shock and rough it since I'd never been camping!
Friday night we checked out downtown, found an awesome haunted castle looking place, then went back to the camp to relax and call it an early night so we could be up early for Saturday.
Saturday we got up bright and early, went out for coffee, then strolled around the gardens at temple square - some of the most beautiful flowers ever! (Matt has piccies he'll have to upload later). I wonder if columbines can grow in Idaho. Here's an online photo I found of a columbine - I love the tails on them

We went on the trax, and checked out the farmer's market, then headed over to Hoggle Zoo! I love that place :D I spent ages looking at the bats! Headed back to the camp for a dip in the pool and hot tub, then relaxed a bit before bed.
Sunday we got up early, packed everything up, then went out to the actual Salt Lake, went around on the beaches, checked out the marina, and looked at brine shrimp swimming in the water :D Went from there to get some coffee before heading on our way home!
So don't think we'll be doing Salt Lake in July, which was the original plan, but maybe some local camping that weekend!
