I think my tummy was doing a lot better last night, I made it through the entire night, sleeping without waking up! That is, until about 6:30am, when
jojotklown's phone started ringing. I'm still debating over weither or not to wake him up, and let him know that his message ring has been going over for 1 1/2 hours.
Having minstrone soup for breakfast again today. Couldn't eat the entire can yesterday =-) I'm fairly aware of serving sizes, and one can of that stuff = two servings. I've lived in America all my life, and I still don't understand how most of the people out here can pack away so much food in one sitting. I'm also wondering when, in our gluttonous society, celebration began to = tons of food. There are plenty of other, more constructive and logical, ways to show you're having a good time, that stuffing your face. Yes, it is nice to go out for a meal, and talk, and visit, if you're actually hungry, but you don't have to eat, just because you're partying. It's disgusting.
It's Friday! *just did a 180*. I'm so happy =-) It'll be a long day, since my CPR class is today, but, after that, it's the weekend =-) And I'm turning in my "time-off request" today, for next month.

Date: 2004-02-28 02:13 pm (UTC)The whole celebration=food thing probably goes back to Victorian times, when the plumper a woman was the more actractive she was. Food also was used as a celebratory thing because delicacies like meat (that wasn't rotten) weren't served often, so it was saved for special things. :/ Food shouldn't be equated with celebrations, it just teaches children that overeating is ok.
