I LOVE my job, but for a little bit now, I've been considering leaving, to work elsewhere on a part time basis. The majority of why I haven't, is due to loyalty to my boss...she was my teacher at APC, hired me out of school, she's let me have fairly free range over my schedule, and she's just an amazingly kind person. I got to work today though, to find an email from her stating that 12/14 is possibly her last day, and if it isn't, then 12/28 is, depending on how smoothly transitioning the new manager is. Just this morning before I left for work, I was talking to Matt about how I would love to leave and work part time while going to school, but that I didn't want to quit because of Kerri. Maybe this is exactly what I needed! There's a career center at the school, some are on campus jobs, some are full time, some are part time. I think I'm going to start aggressively looking into this.

If you qualify for financial aid, you could do the work study program. That's what I'd do if I didn't already have a job. I'm not positive, but I think you have to be taking a minimum number of credits.

I'm not sure what the income guidelines are, though. I only qualify because I'm not married and have two kids.

I guess it's worth looking into, though, if you're ever interested in working on campus.

That definitely seems like a sign to go ahead and start looking. I've been in similar positions where I've stayed because of loyalty to the boss or co-workers, then things shift a bit and you can leave without cutting those ties. Good luck hunting!!

I'm going to start looking into jobs on campus, and if not, I might look into Starbucks or something :D
