Favorite quote:
Imagine how much richer and fuller your life would be if you spent your money on experiences instead of things. Buy a pair of shoes, wear it until they're falling apart before you replace them.... And imagine the stories those hole-filled shoes could tell at the end of their ride, because you'd been out living life in them. And if the shoes could accumulate such stories in their time, imagine the stories you could accumulate in YOUR time, if you had the mind to do so!

I have not seen this quote before, but I love it. I have been trying to create experiences and doing away with things..

Thank you :) I made that quote based on a conversation I had with an elderly gentleman when I worked doing in-home care. He was from Spain and talking about how different the consumer culture here is. I use that as my "bio" on lastfm.com. I'm glad you like it!!

I love that quote. Who said this?

Thank you! I feel silly admitting this, but the quote is "mine" based on a sentiment generated when I did in home care. The elderly gentleman I cared for was from Spain and got to talking about how they don't spend money so freely there, and what's the point of replacing shoes that are perfectly good, he wouldn't replace them until they were falling apart. It got me thinking about how easily people just spend to spend and accumulate things when there is more to life than just stuff. :) I use it in various comment sections/bio sections on websites - it seems a good message :)
